tonight . . .

Talon is sitting here with me as I do this. I think he is more likely to write something interesting that I am. I read other blogs, and I am so entertained, moved and encouraged by the words of my friends. But, I have nothing moving to say. At least not tonight . . .

I am sitting at my computer on another night of being alone with my kids. But, it is quickly coming to an end. And, this time it is for a worthy cause. Shanon and I have settled our family in Alabama. The new job with Goodyear is proving to be the transformation our family needed. After several months of being a "single parent" -- I can tell you that dads are very necessary! I have really missed my husband, and, I can see the difference he makes in my kids' lives, too! Anyway, back to tonight . . .

Shanon is in Arlington. Robert, his best friend, my childhood friend, best man at our wedding, had a motorcycle accident some weeks ago. And, what started out as a bad accident that he was recovering from turned in to several weeks in the hospital trying to clean out an infection in his leg. Anyway, Shanon and Robert are like brothers. If something happens in one of their lives, they tell their wife and then each other. They talk on the phone a lot. So, Shanon just had to go see him. He drove all day yesterday to get there and will be home, here with us, on Tuesday. I can't wait to hear about Robert's reaction when he saw Shanon today -- the visit is a surprise to Robert. So, tonight . . .

Here I am once again, but probably for the last time in a long time, alone with my kids. So, this means I need to go watch "Arthur" with Talon as I promised and get him in bed. Then, bed myself so I can cope tomorrow!

  1. Angela,

Having done the "single parent" thing myself for years, I ache for you! I'm SO happy that you will not be doing this much longer. The boys will grow up in the blink of an eye!

Glad you're blogging! It's fine to catch up with old friends.

    Love you!

  2. I'm so excited that you've started a blog! I've added yours to my link bar. My thoughts and prayers are with y'all. I'll add Robert to my prayers too.

  3. Angela:

Reading what you've written makes me feel like we've just had a nice long chat. I feel like you aren't so far away from Tyler after all. Thanks for doing it. What I've read inspires me.

    We miss you.
