Have you ever had someone do something so wonderful for you that you don't know how to say thank you? Is there someone in your life that does wonderfully kind stuff for you over and over? Well, for me, it is my parents. They have been there for me anytime I needed them. All of the times my dad came to my rescue when my car wouldn't start -- just to have it start when he turned the key: "You probably just flooded it -- glad I got to see you anyway". Or, all of the times we have moved and they have helped way beyond what should be expected. They have lived in the same house since I was 6months old, because they hate to move. Yet, when I call to say "Guess where we are going now..." they come and help me go. When my babies were born...I can't tell you all they did.
Well, for my birthday, I asked my mother to come help me finish setting up my house. She spent several weeks with me when we were house hunting and when we actually moved. But, I had boxes that I had not unpacked -- pictures stacked in my dining room. Breakfast room chairs that needed to be recovered. I just didn't know how I would get it done. For my mom, things were going on at home. My dad's mother lives with my parents now (Granny is 96). So, it is hard for them to leave. She just didn't think this was a good time for her to be gone. I completely understood -- I think I knew when I asked.
Last Saturday night, Shanon and I went to eat hot dogs at the home of one of his co-workers. When we got home, my mother was sitting in my living room! She stay for a week, and worked circles around me. I had a hard time keeping up with her. Now, my home is almost completely set up. And, I am at a lose about how to say thank you. Then, she tells me that my dad paid for her gas and encouraged her to come -- he would take care of Granny on his own. I love you both -- thank you.
Oh, and, for all of you who were waiting for us to "get settled" before you came to see us . . . load the car and head this way.

Mom's are great! Glad you got the time to spend with her. I've been wondering where you have been on the blogging scene and now I know : )
