Prayers Needed!

My blog started, back in August, just after our dear friend Robert had a motorcycle accident. Today, Robert is scheduled for surgery on his knee in Arlington, TX. Becki, his wife sent an update e-mail last night, and here are some of her words:

"Robert's knee surgery is tomorrow, January 19. We have to be at the hospital by 9 am. He is scheduled to go in around 11. So, please remember him in your prayers. I will let all of you know ASAP how things go.

For some reason I'm crying about this surgery and I didn't cry before any of the others. This is surgery #11 by the way - this is #9 on his leg and he's had 2 on his shoulder. Part of me hopes this is the end and part of me knows that it may not be. So, I need your prayers too. I want to be strong and courageous. I know that God is in control. He has been with us thus far and he will not leave us."

Robert's initial injury developed an infection and he had numerous skin grafts. I has been a long and stressful recovery. Robert has not been able to return to work since the accident in July.

Well, I call Becki this morning to check on them before the surgery. Becki answered the phone from Hannah's hospital room. Hannah is their daughter who will be 4 tomorrow. Seems she developed Pneumonia overnight and has been check in to a different hospital in Arlington. This family really needs some urgent prayers! I feel so helpless all the way in Alabama. But, I know our Lord is with them. And, he can help so much more than I can!
